Hello, I'm Karin. I am a passionate Hawkes Bay born and bred. I have always had an interest in sport and travel, both internal and overseas. I am a Mum to Aaron and Janine. Aaron lives in Taihape and works on a large Sheep Station with his wife Amy and son Riley and daughter Trelise. My daughter Janine and her husband Quentin, who live in Havelock North have a son Jett and 2 daughters Coco and Fuschia.
I Manage my own promotional business, and have done so for the last 20 years. Fitness is a key part of my life and enjoy the many walks that Havelock North has to offer.
Over the later years I have travelled extensively around the world and have wonderful experiences to share with you.
Through personal tragedy for both myself and partner Doug, we came together and decided that a B & B would be a great way to meet new people. What a wonderful experience it has been so far.
Hi, I'm Doug-------the younger one of this partnership.(6 months to be precise) Although a born and bred Hawkes Bay person, I have spent many years living in other parts of New Zealand. My work experience started within the Horticultural Industry, but over last 28 years I have been involved with the New Zealand Fertiliser Industry. This position gave me extensive travel opportunities within New Zealand and an opportunity to build an extensive knowledge of our wonderful country. Agriculture is New Zealand's principal income earner and has been a great Industry to be part of. I also do part time tour Coach driving both locally and Nationally. I also take private wine tours.
I have a wonderful daughter Alison, married to Nigel and they have a young son Alex. They live in Nelson and have had a passion working within the Super Yacht Industry.
Also a keen sports person, bike riding and bike racing has been a major interest over the last 15 years, however as the body takes longer to repair from those falls, walking is now becoming my number one interest. I am however passionate about most sports and am a very keen follower of our national teams-------go the All Blacks.
Helping Karin establish 'The Whitehouse Homestay Bed and Breakfast' has been a great experience and I've really enjoyed the people we have met so far. I always have enjoyed cooking, especially from the BBQ----------you could experience this with the purchase of our Diamond package.
